How to Recover From A Cold Faster
A runny nose can be a nuisance, especially when you are trying to go about your day-to-day activities. Fortunately, there are some simple things you can do to help speed up your recovery. Here are five helpful tips I’ve learned along the way on my wellness journey. I hope this helps!
It's important to stay hydrated. Drinking plenty of fluids, such as water or herbal tea, can help thin out the mucus in your nose, making it easier to blow your nose and get rid of the congestion. My favorite tea during this time is mint, Mullen, anything immune support, and gypsy cold care teas to help aid in my recovery.
Use a saline nasal spray or rinsing can also help to clear out your nasal passages. These products contain salt water and can help to remove irritants and excess mucus from your nose. This can help you breathe better.
You can also try using a warm compress over your sinuses to help relieve congestion. Simply soak a clean towel in warm water, wring it out and place it over your sinuses for a few minutes. The goal is to remove the inflammation from your temple.
Get adequate of rest. This one is the secret weapon many of us do not use in the grind culture. Getting at least eight hours of sleep does wonders for your temple even if you are not recovering from sickness. We can function on 6 hours of sleep, but there is a difference when your temple can get 7-9 hours of sleep. This is how the temple heals during stage four sleep. We all need deep sleep.
Take care of your immune system can also help speed up recovery. This includes eating a healthy diet, remember you want to focus on foods that help boost your immune system. I love using bone broths during this time, fruits and vegetables high in vitamin C, and avoid dairy because of its inflammatory properties.
By following these tips, you should be able to recover from your runny nose quickly and get back to feeling your best. Please let me know what you do to recovery when you aren’t feeling well in the comments. I look forward to hearing from you.
Live well, be well.
