Bone Broth Recipe
Bone broth is a nutritious and delicious broth made from animal bones and connective tissues. It is a great source of protein, collagen, and minerals such as calcium and magnesium. Here's a simple recipe to make your own bone broth at home:
Ingredients:
2-3 pounds of bones (chicken, beef, turkey, or pork)
1 onion, chopped
2 carrots, chopped
2 celery stalks, chopped
4 cloves garlic, minced
1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
Water
Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions:
Preheat your oven to 400°F. Place the bones on a baking sheet and roast for 30 minutes until golden brown.
In a large pot, add the roasted bones, onion, carrots, celery, garlic, and apple cider vinegar. Add enough water to cover the ingredients.
Bring the pot to a boil on high heat, then reduce the heat to low and let it simmer for at least 12 hours (up to 24 hours for a richer broth). Skim off any foam that appears on the surface.
After simmering for the desired amount of time, remove the pot from the heat and let it cool down. Strain the broth through a fine-mesh sieve into a large bowl or container.
Season the broth with salt and pepper to taste. You can use the broth immediately or store it in the refrigerator or freezer for later use.
Enjoy your homemade bone broth as a nourishing drink, or use it as a base for soups, stews, and other recipes!
Live well, be well.
